I downloaded VLC a few months ago and I would like to know do I uninstall to get a
new version and how and I have had no trouble with my VLC and I see some people have so do you think I should. How big is the file and which update do I take
I have xp2 pro
really dumb on the PC

You can just install a newer version of VLC media player straight over the current one.

You can download the latest version for Windows from here:
http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

Just select one of the mirrors for the "Windows self-extracting package" and run the *.exe installer.
