Streaming MP4 with 0.9.0

Postby caalip » 08 Jul 2008 01:00

Hi all,

I know the Videolan people may not want to help with this, since it is the new version and all. However, has anyone gotten the MP4 streaming bit to work with new version. (I am working from git code from this morning.)

By the way the new interface is great for the streaming.

That being said I get this error when trying to stream MP4s.

invalid options (empty)[00000673] stream_out_rtp stream out error: missing destination and not in RTSP mode
[00000672] stream_out_duplicate stream out error: no destination given
[00000671] main stream output error: stream chain failed for `duplicate{dst=rtp{,mux=mp4,dst=123.135.34.288:1234}}'
[00000670] main input error: cannot start stream output instance, aborting

One time it was prefixed with this error:

[????????] x11 video output error: X11 request 42.0 failed with error code 8:
BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)

However, that doesn't happen everytime.

I am running linux hardy.

On windows the error message is as follows:

stream_out_rtp error: missing destination and not in RTSP
mode
stream_out_duplicate error: no destination given
main error: stream chain failed for `duplicate{dst=rtp
{,mux=mp4,dst=123.34.234.56:1234}}'
main error: cannot start stream output instance, aborting

Any help you can give me would be great. Thanks, a lot.

By the way I notice that dst=rtp... looks very wrong. However, I am not really any expert.

I may try the command line version tomorrow. Have a good evening.

Grae Cullen

God Bless You

The telnet VOD works with 0.9.0. Currently, the streamer always misses, forgets to send, the first sending of the SPS and PPS information. So if you only have one Iframe, I frames are where vlc prepends the SPS/PPS data, that video will not show up.

PPS = Picture Parameter Set (I think)
SPS = Squence Parameter Set (I think) Feel free to correct me about either of these.
