VLC and uPnP

Hi. Apparently VLC is supposed to be a uPnP client. How do i set this up?

On 0.8.6: from the playlist, select Services discovery /UPnP.
On 0.9.0: from the main UI, select Playlist / Additional sources / UPnP

I'm running 0.8.6c and there is no uPnP option there.

Your VLC build does not have UPnP support. You need to recompile.

Ditto, I just downloaded the featured Windows binary version (0.8.6i) and did a normal install. As described by original poster, there was no uPnP option in the location described. Does this mean uPnP is only available by compiling. Why isn't this feature enabled by default in the featured Windows binary version?
