VLC crashes at start.

Athlon 1600+
512 MB RAM
GeForce MX440
Version: VLC 0.7.2

After instaling worked fine for few films, than after ending the program couldn't start it again.
Allways getting error message below. Uninstalled, reinstalled, worked fine for few films and then all over again.

The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0x00000000" . The memory could not be "read"
OK to terminate, CANCEL to debug program
