Display container information

Postby iasion » 24 Apr 2008 11:05

Hi,

I have tried searching the forum without finding the answer to my question. So my first post on the forum may be a beginners question, but here it comes.
How can I display the container information for a file in VLC? The only information I can find is codec information, but nothing about the encapsulating container.

You can get verbose debug output from VLC with "vlc -vvv --color". The container format (or at least the VLC module used to demux the file) will be somewhere in the debug output. I don't think that this info is available in the GUI ... but you might want to have a look in the "Stream and media info" dialog just to check :)
