Is there a way to see the dolby digital bitrate information on a DVD, VOB, or MPEG file? I've looked all over and it seems like it would be somewhere but I can't find it. I appreciate your help and your player is phenomenal!

Thanks!

I think there is no information like that. I haven't seen before something about that..

In the "Advanced information" tab of "Stream and Media Info" (Ctrl+I) dialog box the bitrate information is not always displayed. The "Statistics" tabs displays the decoded input bitrate, however not the individual bitates for e.g. the video and audio tracks separately.

One method which does tend to work is to:
  1. Disable the audio track by going to "Audio >> Audio Track >> Disable".
  2. Open up the Messages... dialog box by press "Ctrl+M" (or go to "View >> Messages...").
  3. Re-select the audio track (e.g. "Audio >> Audio Track >> Track 1").
Then in the Messages output there will be a line (for a52 audio it will probably be in green) reading e.g.:

Code: Select all

a52: A/52 channels:6 samplerate:48000 bitrate:448000
It may seem like a long unnecessary process but in only really takes a few seconds to do :).

As for alternatives you could use e.g. MediaInfo which can be used for displaying detailed information about the bitrate, codecs etc. for a large variety of media types.

Cheers, Arite.
