Normalise Audio Level During Transcoding

Hi all,

I want to adjust the audio level during the transcoding process and it just doesn't seem to work (0.8.6d/Win).

Searching the forums for this topic yields irritating results, like "may work with VLC 0.9 nightly" dated 2005 (!) and a hint from a few weeks ago which won't work for me.

A short pointer or clarification which version supports what would be very helpful. Thanks!
