Hotkeys for subtitles to speed them up/delay them?

For questions and discussion that is NOT (I repeat NOT) specific to a certain Operating System.

Hotkeys for subtitles to speed them up/delay them?

Postby neenski » 20 Dec 2007 11:57

I'm deaf and I use VLC to watch movies and series on my laptop. Sometimes the subtitles aren't in sync with the movie file and then I have to use an external subtitle timing program to adjust them, which is rather time-consuming as I have to lipread the actors to make sure that the subtitles fit and when they're moving around/mumbling/etc. or lightning isn't optimal... isn't there a way how I can do this directly in VLC with the help of hotkeys - a click to delay them or speed them up, at the same time as I'm watching the movie?

I'd appreciate your help a lot!

Yes there is. You can delay the subtitles by pressing the "h" (Subtitle delay up) or "g" (Subtitle delay down) during playback.
