Hello.
I've got a few questions regarding the vlc plugin that is used in the ZDFmediathek
a) how to pause the video? <space> does not seem to work.
b) how do I get some information about the stream, like bitrate and codecs used? The context menu with Miscellaneous / Media Info is disabled.

TIA and Regards,
Helge

(I am using Mandriva Linux Cooker if that matters)

Regrettably, this isn't a too great answer for you.

a) You can only use the controls shown in the ZdfMediathek website (implemented in JavaScript). There is no way to control the plugin directly by pressing keys, etc.

b) There is no way to get this info directly from the browser plugin. You could launch Firefox through the console and watch VLC's debug messages, but that's all.

The VideoLAN Team is working on improvements for both points, but there is no beta version for you to test right now.

Some keys work, like m (mute) or f (fullscreen). When I hit space in fullscreen mode the pause symbol is displayed in the top left corner, but nothing else happens. This is with Revision 106496.

Also the pause button on the slider below the video does nothing.
