Hi,
I've installed on my pc VLC (0.8.6c) and vlcf (1.3.0) on my dreambox, I can see the movies, but the audio volume is very low, I have turned up the volume to the maxim on the program, on the pc and on my dreambox, but it's still the same.
With older versions there wasn't these problem,
any body can help me.

Hi nneo
I have exactly the same problem with VLC 0.8.6c at the PC and vlcf 1.3.0 at the DM.
I'm using Gemini 4.1, Which image are you using?
I will check with other versions of VLC at the PC, maybe it's a vlc bug.

Hi shaggydoo,
I've tried with gemini 4.1 and 4.0, and it's the same, I'm trying to find older versions of the plugin for my DM, to try them.
regards

hi nneo,
I tried to edit the following line
i:/enigma/plugins/vlcf/volume=0000001f
at /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/config and increase the value 1f (my default volume) to ff....
I experienced an increasing in the playback volume when using vlc, so now i can lisen ok the movies streamed with it.
But i'm not sure if it is the correct way to do it, because after restarting enigma, that value was modified by the dreambox to 0000000c and this makes me to be distrusted wit this solution. I dont exactly know how the plugin works with volume. But even with this new value (0000000c), the volume is working ok now ¿?
Due i checked it a few minutes ago, i don't know if modifying this setting could cause undesired behaviours in other situations.
Hope it helps.

Hi shaggydoo,
Now it's working fine, with the value ff was the same problem, and restarting nothing change, so I manually changed to 0000000c, and works fine.
Thanks for your help

Hi neeo,
The solution i posted is not working fine for me...so investigating a little bit more, you can increase the playback volume from the vlc web control interface (
http://vlchost:8080 by default)...You only have to press the loudspeaker icon and you can increase up to the 200% volume. (from the vlc program its only possible to reach the100%) In my case i set it to 200%, the maximum setting. Then, to keep the setting permanent, you have to go to the vlc application, menu options, preferences and press the button save. Then restart vlc, and the volume should keep to your selected volume.
Hope it helps.

Hi shaggydoo,
You can increase the playback volume up to 200% directly from the vlc program, just go to the vlc application, menu options, preferences and in the first menu (General auido settings) change the default audio volume to 1024, now the volume is 200%, but in my case that's not the solution, it seems that your problem is in your vlc program (pc) and mine is in the vlcf plugin (DM), it's strange, I'll investigate a little bit more.
Hope it helps.

I had the same problem using a DM500.
Firstly the DM500 has a remote that ismissing the Volume+ and - buttons. Only the arrowkeys exists. This can be solved by pointing your browser to http://your_DM_LAN_IP/showRemoteControl
Secondly I turned off the AC3 default option. Now the volume worked (using the http://your_DM_LAN_IP/showRemoteControl the first time)

this is how to solve the problem
firstly
we need vlc 086h
in the dreambox in the blue panel go to addons-codecs and download and install flac audio codec
then run vlc go to open netwrok steam then check stream/save and then settings
in the http check the box and in the address put the dreambox ip
down down check the audio codec and select flac put the bitrate to 128 and click ok ok
then
go to settings add interface and add web interface
that's it:-)
i hope i helped
