video and audio out of synch for ipod

i used this guide: http://wiki.videolan.org/Ipod, to convert some .flv files so i could watch them on my ipod. files convert well, video and sound is all good, but the music/sound is out of synch by a few seconds with the video. so all the files end up looking like a really bad kung fu video, the dubbing is way off. on the .flv files the sound and video is synched up, it is only off when i play the converted files on quicktime. anyone have any idea how i can solve this problem? i would really appreciate any help at all.

well vlc isnt the best video converter (but when you dont have all your programs it turns out to be a nifty converter/player/streamer/radio) but anyhow use this http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=109531
its winmenc it uses mplayer (also another good media player) to convert the video files, all you have to do is click on add files and add the wanted files that you want to convert and go to profiles and click on ipod (i dont know which one (i dont own an Ipod) but you should know =])

thanks alot kevkid, unfortunately though, for some reason the audio is still out of synch and starts late even when i used winmenc. it's worth mentioning that i am not having a problem at all with converting the files into an appropriate file that can be used on an ipod, it's just when i convert .flv files the sound is off and was wondering if anyone knows the solution to this problem.
