Hi all.
I have a pinnacle dc10plus card and i would like to acquire video and for now play, then send it in multicast using vlc. I have v4l installed and if i use xawtv i see the video sent to the card.
I have some problem to do it with vlc, if i select input video4linux and /dev/video1 i obtain this error and no video displayed.

Code: Select all

[00000198] main input: playlist item `v4l:/dev/video1:channel=0' [00000198] v4l input error: chroma selection failed [00000198] v4l input error: cannot set audio format (16b little endian) (Invalid argument) [00000198] v4l input error: cannot open device (Is a directory) [00000198] v4l input error: cannot set audio channels count (Input/output error)[00000198] vcdx input error: could not stat() file `/dev/video1:channel=0': No such file or directory [00000198] vcdx input error: init failed [00000198] vcdx input error: could not stat() file `v4l:/dev/video1:channel=0': No such file or directory [00000198] vcdx input error: init failed [00000198] v4l input error: cannot open device (No such file or directory) [00000198] v4l input error: cannot open audio device (No such file or directory)[00000198] main input error: no suitable access module for `/://v4l:/dev/video1:channel=0'
What can i do to resolve the problem?
I use redhat 9a

Thanks in advance

You will need to find out what chroma your card DOES like, and force that by setting an option in vlc (not sure which one, i don't use v4l).

I resolved the chroma problem ,thank you!!
Now i have another problem...the video output is with green bar!! From the debug i noticed that the output fb doesn't work, and that vlc uses decoder rawvideo...maybe ffmpeg is better!!

I send another post about this!

Thanks the dj!

I tried a lot of Chroma, but vlc uses always the same, i think he gains it from the card!
Friday with the chroma I422 worked perfectly, but now gives me the same old error, chroma refused!

How can i solve it?

Thanks all
