new video file format

Hi, I've created a new video file format. This format is similar to the avi format but it contains only data about the video stream and its structure is a bit simpler then the avi structure. Now I would like to make VideoLan able to display files which are in this format. What can I do?
Should I create a new interface plugin, a new input plugin, a new decoder, a new video output plugin...? Which are the steps I have to follow?
