no sound on some .mov files

Postby rumpty » 25 Aug 2007 06:34

Some .mov files play with no sound on my VLC installation. I have discovered that the ones that do have sound and pics, show, under the Stream and Media Info menu, that stream0 is the audio (twos codec) and stream1 is video (SVQ3).

The files that play with pics but no sound have the streams reversed i.e. stream0 is the video and stream1 is the audio. Same codecs.

All files play with video and audio on Quicktime.

The above problem shows on both Windows and Linux. The latest VLC is installed on Linux. Is there any solution to this problem please?
