Anyone interested in building VLC for WinCE?

I've built a toolchain for cygwin according to instructions I found here: http://wiki.scummvm.org/index.php/Compi ... Windows_CE
I've downloaded 0.8.4a sourcecode in order to verify that it can actually build a VLC for WINCE version which is know to work. However, as could be expected, I get a lot of compile errors. I will try again on linux this evening, which can make a difference of course.

Did anyone manage to build 0.8.4a or later recently? If so, was it with the supplied toolchain (http://download.videolan.org/pub/videol ... ing/wince/) or with another like gnuarm (http://www.gnuarm.com) or cegcc (http://cegcc.sourceforge.net/) ? Anyone interested in getting current svn to work on WinCE?

Ok...

Noone has built VLC for WinCE lately because no developer really cares about it. So I guess you have to stick to 0.8.4 with that old tutorial.

Anyway, I got a solution for you: "cegcc".

You should be able to build, with some hacks, VLC and the contribs system with that toolchain. Compile first ffmpeg, then the rest of the VLC subsystem.

If I succeed then I will let you know here.

There are so many fancy Windows Mobile devices out there, so I'm actually surprised there is so little interest.
But then again there are not that many geeks who like building toolchains and who have time and endurance to solve nasty errors

I think that the problem is more "Windows" that doesn't like geeks.
