Crash when viewing avi files

How come video lan crashes on my system whenever I try to preview avi files, but not any other movie files? I downloaded this plugin off of emule-project.net the 1.4 access module plugin, and that just seems to make it worse. I have windows ME and my systems clean and all, and I have the latest video card drivers. & vlc v 7.2

what other players besides vlc can effectively preview files? All the standard ones like windows media, real player and quicktime rarely work, and avi preview doesn't do as good of a job as vlc whenever vlc works properly.

none. partially downloaded files are simply broken files. Sometimes they work sometimes they don't. Not much you can do about it. You should completly DOWNLOAD a file if you want to view it.

the thing is, i used to be able to preview a file for a very long time before it stopped. Now, it doesnt even start, it starts and sais vlc has caused an error in vlc.exe. I like previewing files because I dont want to end up with a B.S. file.

The playing of partial files is unsupported by the VL team and a feature of eMule. We don't maintain this feature.

Oh ok. Well I fixed the problem anyways. VLC is so good at playing partial files that it seems like that's its main use. No other players play partial files at all besides IO player, but that costs a few bucks.
