Postby kbell » 15 Jul 2004 23:47

Will VLC player ever support Vbrick multicast streams?

[edit:moderator] remove tags that selfish user added to draw attention to himself. As punishment i shouldn't answer the question, yet i will.[/edit]

VLC does support VBrick multicasts. I watch them all the time. However sometimes these streams are set with very large packetsizes and therefore require you to add --mtu=18000 to the vlc commandline (or preferences) to make them work.

This will even be automated in the future, still we advise against very large packetsizes by the server, since you will get bad video quality in situations with packet loss.
Don't use PMs for support questions.

I didn't mean to draw attention to himself. This was my first post an I didn't know what I was doing. Sorry!
