OGG/OGM is a container that you can put a variety of formats in. Unless you now what the format is there is not much hope of help here.

Press ctrl i while trying to play the file and go to the Advanced info... tab. Post that here.

It appears to be an audio only ogg stream. Search and download Haali Media Splitter.

This will not effect VLC as it is not a direct show player and if VLC does not play the file it is unlikely that the Haali splitter will help a direct show player.

If only vlc can play this file, then you can use vlc to "convert" the ogg file to uncompressed WAV and use almost any CD Burning Program to burn to audio CD. Converting to WAV will create a HUGE file, but you will be able to burn it. You don't want to convert to MP3 because you will lose a good deal of quality by doing so.

Ok, so to convert to WAV, it will be easiest to use the "Wizard" under the File menu in vlc.
  • Click File->Wizard. This opens the Streaming/Transcoding wizard window. Click the circle next to "Transcode/Save to file" and click Next.
  • Now you have to choose your input. Click "Choose..." and then click "Browse..." under the File tab to find your OGG file. Click OK, then click Next. When you are back at the Input window, click Next.
  • Now you choose your transcoding options. Only check the option to "Transcode audio." Under Codec, select "Uncompressed, floating". You can leave the bitrate alone or increase the value. Click next.
  • On the Encapsulation Format window, You should only have WAV as an option. The rest should be greyed out. Click Next.
  • Choose a name for your WAV file. DO NOT USE THE NAME OF THE ORIGINAL FILE, EVER. You may want to have the file end in .WAV. Click finish, and vlc will start transcoding your OGG file to a format almost any CD Burning Program can burn to Audio CD.
