Hello all,

This doubt I have in my mind for several days about VLC Low CPU usage.
Same file in same system with many video players take 5 to 10% CPU
Where as with VLC Player or VLC Plugin ActiveX it take only 1 to 4%

Pls. tell me what is the reason for this...
Any special Decoder ?
Any special Renderer ?
Any special Architecture ?
Does it use the same DirectShow or some thing different ?
Can't we use those technic in any custom made Directshow player ?

I love VLC's performance a lot....
But I hate it, because it is not coder friendly like other player activeX.

VLC doesn't use any of the so called "windows codecs". Every thing was coded from scratch or uses open source libraries coded from scratch with perfomance in mind.
