compiling vlc

Postby Lorenzo » 12 Dec 2003 17:28

Hi all,
I hope this forum is the right place to post my request.
I try to compile vlc source code with ms visual c++, but I have some problems. The first one is that there is two modules having the same name: src\audio_output\input.c and src\input\input.c. So, I have tried to change the name of one module but 102 errors happen on \include\audio_output.h... Because I'd like only to test the building of vlc source code with a basic configuration, could someone get me an input to compile and build the source code that I'have downloaded at
http://www.videolan.org/pub/videolan/vl ... 6.2.tar.gz?
(not necessary with ms visual studio, but preferably under windows)
Thank you very much,
Lorenzo

Try a more recent snapshot:
http://www.videolan.org/pub/vlc/snapsho ... 211.tar.gz

But I'd also advise you to have a look at http://developers.videolan.org/vlc/vlc/INSTALL.win32 because it isn't really easy to build a full featured version of VLC with MSVC (because of the required 3rd party libraries).
