hi,

I'm using VLC 072 on windows xp. I have 'creative audigy platinum ex' sound card connected from its optical out to yamaha rx-v1200 receiver.

I downloaded several DTS wave music files. When I try to play them with VLC using '5.1 audio device' I hear it fine on 2 speakers, but when I try to use the spdif device I hear total silence, although the receiver recognizes the dts signal.

any suggestions?

Same here.

Audigy 2 s/pdif out to my Denon w/ DTS decoding.

When I select the spdif out in VLC, static only.

I get the same problem yet I have an Nforce 2 SoundStorm APU running A/52 over S/PDIF. My 680's recieve the DTS signal and makes popping noises every 10 seconds or so. But if I select 5.1, it seems to decode itself, then reencode to Dolby Digital on the Nforce and sounds good. But I want it to be true DTS.

However, on the latest 'non-beta' release (0.7.2) it plays the file with passthrough almost ok, but it's a bit distorted and I can barely make out words. Every channel is playing music.

(admin can you delete my post in (
AC3/DTS Passthrough with TS Files) please, honest mistake.

There was a bug in 0.7.2
Try a nightly build: http://www.videolan.org/~videolan (warning they are buggy)
