In the previous version, I was able to watch and listen to any media. However, I can only hear the sound and I get NO video at all. Help!

1. Check to make sure you have the latest DirectX (if using Windows) and video card drivers.
2. Are you sure you have Video enabled? In Wxwindows, check Video -- Video Track, make sure that you have "Track 1" selected.

I think I have the latest of everything. I recently formatted and installed XP Pro, followed by all the service packs and the other goodies. I'm using the GeForce Ti4200 with the latest drivers from Nvidia. In the previous version of vlc, I didn't have to do anything and it worked perfectly.

Any more tips/solutions?

Ive had this problem too and so have a few other people. It seems to be in the newest version. Ive been able to get around this by putting the video in full screen.

Does anybody know where I can get the previous version of VLC?

I downloaded the previous version 0.7.0. I'm still getting the same problem: sound and NO PICTURE.

Is there anything else I may need to install?

Thanks for the suggestions so far! :D

Open VLC
Choose Settings/Preferences
Click 'Reset All' at the bottom of the window
Click 'Save'
Exit VLC

Now try again to see if it works.
