RTSP RECORD url

Hi,
I am confused about the meaning of request URI in a RTSP RECORD request.
In play mode, when we say:
rtsp://server.example.com/meeting then it says that server.example.com is the server address where file meeting lies but while recording when we say :
rtsp://server.example.com/meeting what does that mean? Is it the place where we ask the server to save the recorded data or its the address of the data which is to be recorded?
Can anybody please explain it?
Thanks in advance,
supriyas

Hi,
Ok, suppose there is a live server A. I want to record the live data that it is streaming at another server B. So, can u please tell me the sequence of rtsp messages between these two servers to do that. I suppose I'l have to use the RTSP RECORD method somewhere.
waiting for reply,
thanks n regards,

That should be in the RFC should it not ?
Anyways, the RECORD method isn't supported that well by most RTSP implementions. Actually in the next RTSP version it's supposed to disappear/change.

Hi,
Yes its there in rfc but not very clear, they have not specified about the URL.
If the message is RECORD rtsp://server.example.com/media RTSP/1.0
then does that mean we are requestng the server to record a specified stream ( specified by ANNOUNCE method) and save it at this address with name 'media' or 'media' is the source file which is to be streamed to the server for recording?
Do you know any server supporting RECORD functionality? Coz I guess VLC still doesnt support it.
Thanks n regards,

Hi (developers)
I have a simple question that why do I stop getting replies from the team after 2-3 messages. This is 4th or 5th issue that I have put forth and none of those have ended with a solution. I admit u people are doing a great job, but we rely on u very much. So please bear with us,
Sorry if overspoke,
Thanks,
