i'm having a problem with the image output and capping so many images per n frame.

i setup everything and i load the video but i cant find the screencaps anywhere. which means it didn't cap. it doesn't even work when i use the hotkey for it.

i'm not really sure whats wrong :( someone please help me. i've been going nuts for the past week trying to figure it out. some guy said:
All you have to do is open it, go to Settings -- > Preferences, then double click "Video" on the left pane, then double click "Output Modules". Check the box that says "Advanced Options" on the bottom. A drop down box should appear, in which you should select "Image Video Output".

Then, click "Image File" on the left pane and set the recording ratio. For example, if the recording ratio is 30, it will take a snapshot every 30 frames. Once you set the recording ratio, type in a prefix for the file. For example, if you type "movie", each snapshot would be named "movie001", "movie002"... and so on.

Next, click "OK" and then open your movie. The snapshots will then be saved where the program's folder is located.
but again, it didn't work. he said something later again about not being able to see the movie. and so i checked overlay video output.. but again no screencaps.

perhaps its the video im using?

How? I'm getting all the snapshots, but am not seeing the video, in spite of the direct overlay output option being checked.

BTW, I just found out that I can set the snapshots to be created neatly in a subfolder by first creating the directory, then entering the dir name and a backslash in the prefix box, so "snapshots\movie_" will create files named movie_00x.png in the snapshots directory. Cool.
