VLC & RME HDSP9652 in Multichannel

I need to use the player for pre auditioning 3/2 DTS files from my HDD.
I ise the RME HDSP 9652 Audio card - will the player see this, as it runs under AASIO not WDM. Windows system does not see the card at all, which is normal.
Also, will it play DTS-WAV, .dts or the compressed version (file extension escapes my memory right now).

My converters are external, fed by ADAT link from the RME card. Either single or Double speed, depending on Samplerate.

Please help, as the player looks fascinating.

Your soundcard doesn't even have a "waveOut" driver ?
That would be really unusual for a soundcard.

As for the dts files, VLC should be able to play them all (except for the S/PDIF output which works only on DTS from DVDs). If it doesn't, then there is a bug.

This is not a "traditional" soundcard. It's a digital interface designed for multichanne operation, with 24 in & 24 out via ADAT, and SP/DIF AES in/out via co-axial.
There is an external converter attached to it, as it has none onboard.

Wave out? Nope. Doesn't need it, as it is not meant to work with windows sound, which shoud be disabled.

Guess I can't use the player, then. It is unstable even on a Win98SE test machine with a more "traditional" soundcard. DTS does not work either. The player just throws up a fata error, and the whole machine locks up tighter than a duck's bum.
The test machine was perfectly stable before, now Cyberlink PowerDVD does not work with Dolby Digital files either, despite a re install.
I now have to take windows out & re install, unless there is a fix for the damage caused.

I understand it is "own risk" installation, but let this be a warning to all. This player just isn't stable.
