Can I stream video in H.263 format?

VLC is really a good thing, I tried to stream video in mpv1,2,4 and mwv1,2 and it works all good. I want to try to transcode the video into H.263 stream and play it, but it doesn't work in my computer.
I am using VLC 0.7.1 under winXP. Do I need to do some settings to stream video in H.263 format? Thank you
