OS X interface changes

OS X interface nitpick:
Having the fullscreen button only appear in the Playback window represents a loss of functionality (no visual indication of fullscreen mode) compared to previous versions of VLC. Please have the fullscreen button also appear in the Controller window (where it used to be in 0.8.4 and before). This interface bug is also an inconsistency: every other button in the Playback window is also in the Controller window.
Translation issues

(sorry for posting here, couldn't register at the Trac site)
There are some serious issues with manually choosing the Swedish (sv) language.
If running as "Auto" it works OK.
When manually choosing Swedish, we will get Turkish.
When manually chossing Turkish, you will get nothing (see link 1)

Daniel

Same here.
In 0.8.5-test3, the player will not stay above other windows when the "Float on Top" is selected in Mac OS X.

Hello all !
When I use and active the plugin MSN with the settings by default ({0} - {1}), I see that in my msn : C:\Documents and Settings\My NameUser\Bureau\Title of song.mp3
Why it doesn't take only the title of the song ?
On the other hand when I put only {0} or only {1}, it works perfectly !
But I can't use it of this way because my Tags are empty lol.

I don't even get that. I have had it set to either, and I see nothing in MSN. I have "Turn on what I'm Listning to" enabled in MSN so I don't know why it isn't working. I would like to get this option to work, but I cannot figure out a way. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.
Unstable

VLC is getting less stable for every release, it seems like to me. Playing off a G4 Cube, the equipment is not the latest and fastest, but it has worked for years with VLC. Nowadays, VLC manage to play video and sound only approx. 1/3 of the times I try. I sometimes get an error arguing that the decoder could not be found, I sometimes get nothing but the video, every now and then I get an unexpected crash and - once in a while - it works just fine.

You have to go in preferences -> interface -> contorl interface and mark the compartment of MSN.

I have a strange issue.
As you can see, it doesn't display as it should in the bottom ! There is a previous frame instead of the controller.
I tried to resize the window to see if it would change anything, but it didn't.
I'm running 10.3.9 on an iMac G5 Rev A
Crashes...

I have some problems with VLC 0.8.4a (blue screen, memory dump).
I've downloaded this build : vlc-0.8.5-svn-20060122-2354-win32.exe (nightly build). It was very stable.
With this new release (beta 3), crashes are back

Does anyone know how to use and activate the AJAX HTTP interface? I cannot seem to find any information anywhere. I would like to use it but can't seem to figure out how to use it.

Launch vlc with vlc -I http and connect with you browser on
http://localhost:8080

It fails the data execution prevention check with DEP enabled systems. I have never had to make an exception for VLC before, but I do now. Generally that means there is a memory leak somewhere in the program.

well to be honest, ive tested vlc 8.5-test3 with various videos however theres no use.
no matter if xvid, divx3 or h264 vlc showed nothing then a black picture instead of the video, sound played fine and after some seconds or changing time code or selecting a menu point vlc quits unexpectently.
yes ive resetted my preferences.
my system is a powerbook g4, 1ghz, 768mb ram, running 10.4.6 files are played from a fileserver with 1000mbit link via smb share.
if you want to i could provide crash logs etc.

0.8.5-test3 on MacOSX
Just a small one:
While an AVI played off disk is paused, the Info/Statistics/Displayed_Frames counter still ticks over.

RTSP Client

RTSP protocol don't wors properly........
The problem is in the client when you play
a VOD object....if you create a VOD object
and reproduce it(rtsp://....) with
vlc 0.8.2...perfect, but if you use
vlc 0.8.4 or highgest you can't move
the reproduction (forward, rewind)...
thanks

I try to write multicast TS video stream compressed with mp4v & mpga to hard disk:
Code: Select all
:sout=#duplicate{dst=std{access=file,mux=asf,dst="C:\aaa.avi"}}
Sometimes stream is perfectly written, but sometimes (~30%) there's only sound stream in file and absolutely no video in file.
This is message log in "good" case (video presents)
Code: Select all
packetizer_mpeg4video warning: waiting for VOL
packetizer_mpeg4video warning: waiting for VOL
packetizer_mpeg4video warning: waiting for VOL
main debug: adding a new input
stream_out_duplicate debug: duplicated a new stream codec=mp4v (es=69 group=1)
main debug: adding a new input
mux_asf debug: adding input
stream_out_duplicate debug: - added for output 0
mux_asf debug: Asf muxer creating header
mux_asf debug: pixel aspect-ratio: 0/1
main debug: control type=0
And this is "bad" case:
Code: Select all
packetizer_mpeg4video warning: waiting for VOL
packetizer_mpeg4video warning: waiting for VOL
packetizer_mpeg4video warning: waiting for VOL
main debug: adding a new input
stream_out_duplicate debug: duplicated a new stream codec=mp4v (es=69 group=1)
main error: cannot add a new stream (unsupported while muxing to this format)
stream_out_duplicate debug: - failed for output 0
main error: cannot create packetizer output (mp4v)
I got these logs with identical settings, just pressing Stop & Play buttons - and sometimes there's video and sometimes there's not.
This problem appears in VLC versions from 0.8.4a up to latest nightly build 0.8.6-svn-20060421-0000 on Windows (XP 32bit) and Linux (2.6.xx Gentoo AMD64).

P.S. Additional tests show that this bug occures not only when I write file with ASF encapsulation, but with MP4 and MOV too. However, TS encapsulation works great.
