PowerbookG4/VLC .07.1a/Echo Indigo PCMCIA Card

Postby Mindriot » 19 Mar 2004 23:57

Ive got a powerbook g4 1ghz titanium with 10.3.3 and an echo indigo pcmcia audio card. When I have the card selected as the preferred audio output method in the 'sound' system preference, VLC still outputs through the normal speakers. I have tried switching the modules->audio output->coreaudio->output device number from 0 to 1 and also -1 but nothing seems to work. I have the feeling that this was meant primarily for PCI bus sound card owners but thats just a hunch. If I go to the Audio Menu and select Audio Device, I can get the audio to go to my sound card but only mono through one channel (left). It says my options are:
1. "0: Built-In Audio (Stereo PCM)"
2. "1: Echo Indigo (Mono PCM)"
all the rest of the options through number 8 are the same as 2.
any ideas now how to get stereo audio piped through my sound card? thanks.

btw... what type of deinterlacing do people like best?
