How to Copy music from Windows 11 PC to iPhone

Several guides on line start off by saying I need to click on NETWORK, but there is no Network in my version of VLC. Can someone please give step by step instructions how to copy music to an iPhone without using iTunes. A great deal of my music that is in my iTunes folder is never copied to my iPhone. I have 700 gig of available space on a 1 TB drive on my iPhone and 10 times that on my PC. Apple is no help. I just installed VLC. Under Help/About there is no version. The website where I downloaded it says 3.0.20.
