fullscreen controls dont appaer when moving mouse over the video

now when playing video in frullscreen on one monitor and doing something on other monitor, whe i used to mouse over to the video and the controls would pop up, but now i have to click to have the window infocus to see the controls, i tried reseting to default but still the same
