Stupid Previews

Is there a way to force VLC to skip the previews and start at the menu? (YES, I have "start at menu" checked, doesn't change anything)
I guess you're talking about DVD playback ?
If so, then AFAIK there is no other option than "Start at menu". Some DVDs have a structure which is forcing to read and play some parts.
