VLC - After converting video doesn’t play

Hi there,

I first converted a video in VLC using the profile ‘video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)’ but after conversion audio doesn’t play on my iPhone or MacBook, but it does play in VLC Player.

I then read up that you should customise the profile to use Audio Codec ‘MPEG 4 Audio (AAC)’ with a sample rate of 48000.

I did this, however when I then convert the file ONLY the audio saves this time and not the video. Am I doing something wrong?

My new profile settings are as follows;

ENCAPSULATION: MP4/MOV
VIDEO CODEC: H.264 (bitrate and frame rate both set to zero)
AUDIO CODEC: MPEG 4 Audio (AAC), (bitrate set to 128, channels 2 and sample rate 48000)

Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong? :(

Thanks!

Hi, can you make sure the destination file has .mov as extension and not .mp4? Quicktime-compatible payload is only generated when this extension is present, since Quicktime has its own quirks regarding mp4.
