.DAV conversion

Have a doorbell cam with SD Card
Retrieved 2 .DAV files from the SD card
Running Win7 with latest VLC
I can play files on VLC but audio is choppy or gone, same happens on Camera Maker's Security camera viewer, it converts to AVI but with same choppy audio, with or without conversion
With VLC I can convert .DAV to H264 +MP3(MP4) but same audio issue, tried a few different video/audio conversion formats and audio is still an issue
Video is fine on all, just audio issue, but need the audio in both these video recordings
I can convert the .DAV or .AVI files using just MP3 in VLC and audio is perfect, but no picture, of course
And I have converted .DAV to H264 with no audio, Audio unchecked in settings
So I have good video H264 and good MP3
When I use "open multiple files" to combine them and PLAY, I can get good video and good audio(need to adjust audio timing)
This is a 2:30min video
If I try to Record it during playback I only get 1:00-2:30, so miss the first minute, but video and audio are good for what is there, I pause video at 2sec, then hit record, then unpause it, or hit Record just after starting it, did this multiple times and recording always starts about 1:00-1:30 in
If I try to combine/convert the H264 file with the MP3 file, I get no video or back to bad and missing audio if I get the video
