Greetings,
Straight to the point, what I've wanted to do is make the VLC window size 1280x720, and then apply Video Auto Scaling, so that the video fits neatly within this 1280x720 window.
The method that works:
-> Go to Advanced Settings
-> Scroll to Video
-> Set Window Size to 1280x720 (by setting Video Width and Video Height)
-> Disable Video Auto Scaling
-> Upon opening an .mp4, the video is way too big for the VLC window, so I enable "Always Fit Window" from the Video Tab.
The method that DOESN'T work:
-> Go to Advanced Settings
-> Scroll to Video
-> Set Window Size to 1280x720
-> Enable Video Auto Scaling
-> Upon opening an .mp4, the VLC window is now automatically resized to accommodate the video size, instead of being 1280x720.
If I use the first method, I need to manually press "Always Fit Window" every time I open a video. Is there a way to avoid doing this manually every time? Am I missing something?
