other player capable of recieving vlc stream

Hi there,

is there any other window based players that can recieve vlc http or udp streams ( i would prefer http stream if possible). I tried alot of different player that are stream capable but I have yet being able to display a stream. they all seem to find it. ( they will continue to say opening stream for as long as it is streamed. but as soon as it finished streaming it say failed to render. please any help or suggestion would be appreciated.
version vlc is 7.0 ( the newest is too buggy on my machine).
it really too bad it is not so compatible, I would love to get it to work with a this gpl player called media player classic but but unfortunately I can not
