I am pretty sure VLC used to have a file where it keeps the addresses of streams played. All the addresses in the popup box when you hit control n must be stored somewhere but I can't find it!
Asking both for linux and windows.

vlc-qt-interface .ini on Windows and .conf on Linux.
Under section [OpenDialog] the netMRL= parameter.
