I make backup ISO files of DVDs that I own and they work fine on VLC, but when they only play still frames, like in menus or special features, they don't work properly. I have to use PowerDVD to make the discs work properly like they would on a normal DVD player. This usually happens when there are still frames with audio still running but the frames aren't rendered in time or they don't show up.
For example, I have a DVD copy of Terminator 2: The Ultimate Edition DVD, the second disc (or side) contains Supplemental Materials (or bonus features you'd find on a LaserDisc) which mostly consists of still frames with video clips. I can navigate them by clicking on the screen or pressing the Enter button but I want VLC to function more like a DVD player without skipping or missing video frames.
Is there anything in the Advanced settings that can improve the speed or cache of the DVD disc or ISO?
