Can't show visualizer when playing file with video track

Heyo,

I was messing around with the visualizers and it seems I can only see the visualizer when I am playing a track that does not already have a video component.

ie if I start an mp3 from the playlist, visualizer pops up no problems. If I play an mp4 file, it just plays the default video track I cannot for the life of me figure out how to make the visualizer appear either in a separate window or overdrawing the original video track

So - is it possible to have VLC show the visualizer for any played file which has an audio track, regardless of whether it already has a video track? If so, how would I enable this?

You need to disable the video track (menu Video -> Video Track -> Disable) then you can use the visualizations.
