Recording a Network Stream; gets interrupted, re-syncs(?) and continues playing, but does not continue recording.

I've had this problem happen twice on version 3.0.17.4 Vetinari (I'm running Windows 10, but from a similar problem (see link below) it seems like it's probably not Windows fault (?) so I'm posting here).

I'm just playing a YouTube stream in VLC with default settings (only difference is I increased some cache from size 0.3 seconds to 5 seconds, since my computer could handle it.), I click the red recording button, and it records just fine.

But, at some point during the stream "something" causes the stream to stutter (might be using the wrong word here; specifically what happens is that the stream "pauses" suddenly, then a very short time later it continues from exactly where it left off, so seemingly no content was actually skipped, it was just delayed for some reason.)

The problem is that whenever this happens, the recording stops and does not restart itself, even though the stream restarts itself. Thanks for any help!

Note: Whenever this happens, VLC displays the name of the stream again, like it would if it had just gone to the next thing in a playlist.

Is this perhaps a symptom of a spotty Internet connection (unlikely since both recordings had the problem at around 43 minutes in, but thought it might be possible), and if so, should I put in a feature request for something like "automatically continue recording after playlist update" or something...?
