stream order in Convert/save output

Postby jack.mauro » 15 May 2022 16:58

I use the "Convert/save" function to save a network stream with the following parameters:
- Convert
---- no display output
---- no deiterlace
---- Profile: a custom one
-------- Encapsulation: MP4/MOV
-------- Video: keep original video track
-------- Audio: keep original audio track
-------- no subtitles

Is it normal that the saved MP4 file has audio as track 0 and video as track 1 in most (but not all) conversions?
Does it depends on original processed video? Is it possible to change this default behaviour?

(my question because most smart tv can't reproduce these files and i need to edit them using mkvtoolnix)

Thank you

Jack

It depends on the input.

VLC won't necessarily keep the mapping, and there is nothing that can force that currently.
