How make VLC Playlist Open Automatically On Launch

I am using VLC to play on a second monitor and want to have the playlist open on first monitor when VLC is launched. When VLC Launchesm, the main window opens on the second monitor which is what I want. The problem is its a hassle to open the playlist. I have to click View/playlist. The second monitor is about 12 metres away and it's difficult to navigate. So I have to drag it back to the first monitor, open the playlist and drag the main window it back to the second monitor.

Is there a way to make the playlist open automatically on the first monitor on startup? Your advice would be appreciated.

Kind regards
Chris

You need to turn off embedded video (from VLC preferences), then configure the window manager to position the right VLC window in the right area (don't ask me how, see your WM documentation).

Thank you for your reply. I have already set up the play window on the second monitor.

Do you mean the option, "Integrate Video In Interface". I have tried disabling that option but the playlist does not launch automatically on startup. In the meantime I have found that the shortcut "Control + L" will open the playlist. But I was hoping there was a way to make the playlist always open when I start VLC player.
