I've tried finding the option. I'm giving up.

Where do I set the bitrate for that? It's at 3500 kb/s, that's what it outputs at least.

nevermind. I seem to have found it via https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site%3Aforum. ... fsb&ia=web
I will leave this post up because it uses different terms.
You can't, the purpose of the record button is to record streams in their native formats.

But once it's done you can transcode the recordings to any other format you want.

Maybe edit the label into something with more detail.
'Record in native quality. This setting cannot be changed.'
'Records in native quality. This function has no settings.'
etc.

Hi, the record feature is the same as the record features you could find on devices, like for recording TV. Changing the label might feel confusing because then, how do you record while transcoding from the UI ? :)

The intent here is a no-brainer button to start recording immediately, without encoding. So maybe the UX issue comes more from how the recording is "exposed" to the user afterwards (like, it's not even visible from the UI).
