Saving DVD to multiple files

Hi, I have a couple of DVDs with a TV series on that I want to rip and store on my computer - however, I've found this problematic to actually do in practice with VLC - the convert/save feature seems to playback the whole DVD, starting with the initial track (Which seems to be the whole series) and then each individual track.
If I leave the starting track at 0, the resultant file has the whole series but the audio is unsynchronized after one episode.
I can playback from a certain track, and that does just store the one track with synchronized audio, but then it proceeds to process all remaining tracks again (for no clear reason).
Is there a way to either a) batch process all the episodes into individual files, b) rip the whole series without the issue of unsynchronized audio, or c) at least just process one file per rip?
