Add audio loop to a video

I have seen posts describing adding an audio track to a video, but can that audio track be an audio loop that is much shorter than the video itself. I want to add a movie projector audio track to a video. The loop track is about 1 minute long. I would like it to loop over and over so the entire video has the movie projector sound playing in the background. Is this possible with VLC?
