Sometimes, a video is dark and needs to be lightened. I've found that pushing the gamma slightly generally does a better job than adjusting the brightness control. The brightness control tends to wash out the video. But if I do adjust the brightness control, I usually need to slightly adjust the contrast.
Sound correct?
What is the difference between the gamma control and brightness?
Why do ripped movies need to be adjusted whereas most DVD or Blu Rays play on a tv without requiring adjustments? Do TVs conform to a standardized (or idealized) response (e.g. Brightness, color response, gamma, etc).
Thanks,
Joe
