Audio issues with bluray ripped to MKV

I've recently started ripping some of my bluray discs to MKV and I always check them in VLC prior to posting them on a media server. My last attempt on a movie resulted in some audio problems. I just used default settings in MakeMKV, Pioneer BDR-XD05 3.10, Windows 10 (latest). It resulted in several .mkv files, as usual. All of them except the full movie file played back perfectly in VLC 3.0.16. However, the full movie file begins with no audio and then starts a buzzing sound that reminds me of a drone in flight. I also tried playing it back with VLC on a mac and it was the same case. Any thoughts? I'm planning to try processing the movie again overnight, but I thought I'd ask the question in this forum to see if there's a VLC setting I may have missed. My other rips have played back perfectly in VLC??? Thanks, in advance for all assistance!

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2)
before you start the playback, and then paste the
full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.
Also upload a short sample of your
original problematic file to Zippyshare.com or to WeTransfer.com and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

200 MB max should be enough.

Thanks for the reply. Just an update...the second rip resulted in the same behavior as the first. However, a rip of another movie worked fine. I'll paste the message text from the first/problem movie in a separate message. What software should I use to capture a clip of the problem mkv file? Thanks again!!

I was able to make a clip with ShotCut, which I already had installed. I'd never had the need to edit a .mkv file with it, so it's good information to know. By the way, I verified with the bluray disc that audio should begin around the 51 second mark, and after the "actual events" title text. It begins with a voice-over of a girl reading poetry over the video of her running through the snow, crying. Interestingly, audio does resume in the clip around the time the coyote gets shot and the gunshot is heard. In my original mkv this is the loud buzzing sound. I posted the clip to my google drive.

No, as I said we need a sample of your original file.
Read my post again, carefully, and proceed accordingly.
Also we can't guess the link to your Pastebin paste.

OK. I'll need you to give me some help with getting a sample. I'm not sure how to go about it beyond what I did with Shotcut. As well, I've never used Pastebin before. I uploaded the message output there, but I wasn't sure how, other than the message title, you'd gain access to it. Sorry to add additional burden to your assistance. I've just never used these tools before. Thanks in advance.

Cut the file with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:

Pastebin will give you the URL to your report, just paste this URL here.

Sorry, I missed the instructions in your initial post. Write it off to old-timers disease.

Even though the two audio streams are correctly detected, also by VLC, none of them is giving any sound with any player I've tried and without any error message.

I have the impression that these audio streams are just empty for some reason.
EDIT:
I have extracted both audio streams out of the MKV and they still don't play with any player I've tried. So I guess something went wrong during the encoding.

OK. Well, I greatly appreciate you taking a look at it, but I guess my dumb questions are 1) why? and 2) what can I do about it? I can try ripping it again, although I did do it twice already. I think when I try it again, I'll rip directly to my internal drive instead of an external USB drive. For what it's worth.
Thanks again for your time and effort.

I don't know, maybe a copy protection ? You should ask MakeMKV support since it seems to be a rip issue and not a playback issue.
