Multicast - Delay in reception-Help

Postby sgopis69 » 19 Jun 2021 17:52

I have an issue.

I'm multicasting the "Desktop" screen.

All the multicast recipients are in the same 1Gbps LAN.

My router in the LAN is configured for multicast routing.

I'm streaming the "Desktop" Screen using "udp legacy"
and it works fine and able to receive the multicast
in the receivers which again uses VLC Player (Open Network Stream).

But the problem is, I see about 5 seconds delay in the
reception. Whatever changes made in the source screen, it gets
reflected after 5 seconds.

This is irrespective of the screen (slow movement or fast movement).

Please suggest. Is that due to transcoding time or delay ?.

I use MPEG-TS container format. I have tried almost all combinations
of codecs as well as containers, I still get the same delay.

How to reduce the delay or latency to very minimum.

I use pretty decent Windows10 as source machine.

Thanks,
