Toolbar Editor changes

Using the Toolbar Editor - Customize Interface, I have inserted some additional Elements to Line 2, but I am unable to get the amended Line 2 to appear in my actual VLC toolbar. I have selected "Close" then exited VLC and reopened it, but the old toolbar, without the new elements appears. I'd appreciate any help on how to get the new elements in the existing VLC toolbar. Of course, I have tried dragging and dropping.
