Hello,

I would like to do Audio-Transmission in this way:
Sound -->Mikrophone of PC1----->LAN-------->Soundcard of PC2---->Amp--->--Speaker-->--Sound.

As a description in words: The microphone of my windows 10 Tablet (Lenovo Thinkpad X1) is used as inputdevice for what I speak.

My tablet is connected to the local network with a LAN-cable. The tablets inbuild microphone picks up what I speak. This audio shall be transported over LAN to a second PC in another room.
The audio shall be outputed through the inbuild soundcard of the second PC.

So all in all a local audio-transmission over LAN by avoiding to use ay kind of Internetserver.

I have read the How to streaming but this description seems not to cover my case.

Can VLC be setup this way? Can somebody describe in detail which options I have to setup in which way to make this work?

best regards Stefan

It can be done with RTP, presumably L16 payload format, but latency might not be so great.

Hi Rémi,
thank you for answering.
What I have understand so far it is doable but with quite an amount of latency.

But I have no idea yet what "RTP", and "L16" are.
Since now I was using VLC just to play locally stored videos and mp3.

If somebody would like to describe in detail how VLC must be configured or knows a link to a tutorial
this is much appreciated.

best regards Stefan
