H.264 vs H.265 w/ Gray Screen Outs
Posted: 19 Dec 2020 19:08
Hello,
New to the forum. I have an IP Camera video stream that when configured for H.264 the media stream is uninterrupted, clear and crisp, but when I configure the camera for H.265 I get gray screen blips. My understanding is that H.265 is a much better encoding w/ regard to file size. I plan on setting up motion detection and storage to a NAS. I'm an absolute video data noob. Networking and software dev, my arena, but this I'm out of my element. If I could get some guidance that would be great. Here are some settings of my camera that may or may not contribute to my issue. And I'm happy to post any relative settings you may want to see from my vlcplayer.
Thank you very much
